Last weekend we had a bit of a brain snap and decided it was perfect weather and the perfect time for a complete spring clean of the house…perfect time because, well, we haven’t ever really had a spring clean of the house and it was desperately in need of one!
I’m super glad we did it now, before the weather really heats up. We would never, ever put ourselves through that in the height of summer!!
So now we have a lovely, tidy, clean, organised, re-arranged house with pretty sparkling windows. I think I like the windows best…seriously, we can now leave our lights off for another half hour due to the extra light that is coming in through the clean windows!!!!!

A few weeks ago there was a very momentous occasion in the O’Neill household with Charlotte attending her very first dance lesson. Momentous as if she continues to dance she will be a 3rd gen dancer on her mother’s side.
I was a tad worried about it because she has taken a very long time to become comfortable at Play Group (12 months, to be exact) and she is still not 100% happy with her swimming lessons. I envisaged a half hour lesson spent clinging to my leg, asking to be picked up and generally not participating in any of the actual lesson.
How nicely surprised I was!! Turns out dancing is in her genes and she took to it like a duck to water. Striding confidently into the studio – straight over to the barre to check it out and then to the floor length mirrors to check herself out!
She participated in about 90% of the class, particularly enjoying the….wait for it…tap section of the lesson – whoop! whoop!! Tapping is most definitely in her genes
She even did a “shuffle”. *cue raucous applause*
And then when we came home I mentioned something about “dancing” and she made a bee-line for the wall (her balance isn’t so good – needs something to hang on to) and starts “shuffling” again! I swear!
So while I’m not rushing out to the dance wear store to stock up on leotards, tights, jazz flats and tap shoes, we are going to keep up the dancing (when we pulled in to the studio car park this week she yelled out “YAY!!!” and clapped her hands) and if she’s still into it in 6-ish months time she might just find herself with this pair of cute-as-a-button tap shoes…

For anyone interested, our classes are “Mummy & Me” (yes, meaning I’ve had to drag my shoes out of retirement) at the Movements Academy of Dance (MAD) in Kallangur. Check out their website – they do everything from Mummy & Me to adult classes (Zumba included!).

or of just taking the peace and quiet when you can without being harassed to death by a toddler and not worrying about the circumstances…

Can you spot the dog?

He blatantly ignored me when I started making the bed around him so I just continued on. He stayed like this long enough for me to fetch the camera, snap these, return the camera and tell Bevan about it!
